'normal' panther chameleon?
What does a 'normal' panther chameleon look like? Ive been looking at one for sale, and the seller says it isnt a locale like a nosey be or ambilobe and that its just a normal panther chameleon.
Ive never seen or even heard of just a 'normal' one though... Anyone have any ideas? Thanks. |

I have an idea. Find another place to buy your Panther. This guy does not know what he is talking about.

Like Ryan said... This guy doesn't know what he is talking about. Every Panther has a Locale, or a mix of two or a few locales. The names like Ambilobe, Nosy Be, Sambava, Ankramay(sp?) are all the areas of Madagascar that the Chameleons were exported from. There are color variations that occur in Panthers when they are form different areas of Madagascar and its surounding Islands, therefore we have used the name of the area the Cham was supposedly collected to label it's color pattern. They are all "Normal" Panther Chameleons. I would correct this person, and take my buisness elsewhere.

although everyone is telling you not to it probably wouldn't be a bad thing if you did research here and took pictures and posted them here as well so everyone could help you figure out if it's a good deal or not. I would imagine that if you get all the best info from the forums and just ignore any care tips the store person tells you the chameleon will be in a much better home

Thanks. |

That's correct. The photos in that link are all females. If he can only tell you they are just "normal" panthers, my guess would be they are a cross between 2 locales or he just has no clue.
