No cage cham?

My cham loves his freerange and getting out of his cage, is it possible that I can keep him inside and provide him a basking light and a large freerange setup that he can just live on so he never needs to go in a cage. Could i just handfeed him,

Anyone know if this is possible? / have pictures n what not to prove it.

Yea absolutely!

This was mine. It was set on a table and took over a whole small office room. You don't have to make it this large, but as long as you provide all the same things in the FR as you do in a cage, it'll work really well.

I'm sure JannB will pop in with photos of her awesome free ranges as well.

I did

I just hung my ubv and basking light from chains and slid a large ficus under it and he was just fine. I zip tied a cup to the bottom of the tree and he ate from there. Sometimes he would go on walk about but most always to the same place back of the tv or game systems.

That is F$$$ing awesome.

If anyone else has some for inspiration post some pix

I feel like this kinda stuff should be on that confessions: animal hoarding show, lol, where a pet like takes over your life, I think this kinda stuff is awesome tho.

This is my set up. Though I have only been free-ranging for a little over two months, I think it's great! He loves going over and spending time in the window!

That's incredible, great idea with the branch going to the window btw. I love that you can make his life better with that, lovely setup, rather industrial/modern setup with the acrylic and black and lighting setup

Is it possible to have two chams live in a setup like this, or is it not enuf space for them. I was thinking about getting a female veiled for my male panther, seems like it'd be a cool duo

No, I can tell you that my veiled girl hates my panthers, and they've been seeing each other since everyone was little. She hates all males, because she's not interested in mating. Your female would probably feel the same way, "I can't even mate with this bozo, GO AWAY!" That's what mine thinks, I bet you lol

It's better to not mix species.

Edit to add - They did hang out frequently before she hit puberty with zero issues, but as soon as she matured and mating was suddenly a thing her attitude changed completely towards the boys. They could have cared less, but she's been known to cross the house to get to their feeding bins and actually try to attack one of the boys because they were in her way. I of course intervened before anything happened, but all the panthers would run for the hills from her. She's not nice with them! Now everyone is in cages with supervised free range time instead to keep things like this from happening when I'm not watching.

Thanks. The vine going to the window wasn't really planned. Phineas climbed on me to get over there when I was refilling the mister bucket. I didn't want him to fall trying to jump over there or something if I wasn't home, so I added the vine. The acrylic is so the bugs can be somewhat contained!

As for a second cham - hmmm, I'm new to the cham world and I have no
intentions of a second one. The size is 3X5X8. Someone with more experience
would have to answer that one. But from what I have learned so far, I'd say no.

all those plants and he hangs out on the structure lol.

I free range 24/7 as well. its worked fantastically so far. i just cleaned and rearranged some vines yesterday. if you want to see i can take a pic of it in a bit but its nothin crazy.

both of my chams have FR.(they can go whenever they want) chloes is less so beause it has screen around it but its always open. Clairs is more freerangy. she tends to go look at her crikets at about noon. poor crikets
