Newcomer needing some advice on setup kits

Hi new here and hoping to get some advice on enclosures.

I am planning on ordering a panther from one of the sponsor sites sometime in the next month or so. (mostly looking at flchams, screameleons, and kammerflage kreations so far).

My question is basically on the "ultimate setup" and variations thereupon that they all seem to offer. Can anyone tell me if there are important differences between the kits they offer, especially in terms of hydration systems (screameleons has timers and an automisting system but I am unsure on it's quality), and internal faux foliage which seem to be the biggest differences that my (newbie) senses can find.

Also overall are these a good deal or am I better off just assembling my own setup. (I live near the middle of nowhere Southwest Texas so none of supplies are likely available locally.)

Hello there & welcome!

Well any of the breeders you mentioned are reputable ones, as are all the sponsors on the Forum. I feel the "kits" are a good idea especially for someone new to Cham keeping... that way your set up is basically "fool proof" if your getting it from the breeder. Plus, with a reputable breeder you will get thier guidance!

I cannot speak personally with the exception of Kammerflage... both of my Panthers came from them they were great to deal with and I purchased the starter kit... they gaurantee thier Chams for 45 days with the purchase of thier kit which is the longest gaurantee I found when doing my research. Kit is complete set up & all you would need including supplements. Plus they will email you instructions sheets with very specific information on how to care for your Cham properly... this is huge! Unless you really know what your doing in advance but most people new getting into Chams do not, and if your Husbandry is not correct your Cham will suffer.

I hand mist 3 times a day and use a little dripper this seems to work well for me & my "boys"... Have not heard really good reviews on the Habba Mist... I have heard lots of good things about the Mist King but of course there is a big price differance between the two... As mentioned I personally do not use an automated mister... but I have time to hand mist 3 times a day w/ dripper use. So choose what is do-able for you personally. I do have my lights on an automatic timer 12 hours on and 12 hours off.

Either way good luck and keep us posted... Don't be afraid to ask Q's. :p

I too am a Kammerflage girl and I love their cages! As Gensen said, their set ups come with everything you need, except you will want to add a live plant or two, other than that you are good to go and their care sheet helps tremendously.
