iam getting a chameleon tue afternoon iam trying to get all the stuff i need before i get it I got a cage size 18" 18" 36 is that a good size? i got vines and plants to climb on a heat light and uv bulb and iam going to use a waterfall in the cage ,,do i need anything more please let me know..... lovemylucyball:):):)

Please do not use a waterfall, chams love to poop in them and no matter how clean you think you can keep them they are nasty bacterial breeding grounds. If your cham is a tiny baby that cage will likely be too big, but for a 4 month old to an adult it should be OK. You absolutely need a digital thermometer. Live plants are much better than fake. Have you researched supplements?

Make sure you don't use the coil UVB bulbs....they cause eye issues in chameleons. Please use the linear tube UVB of 5.0 ....only use reptilglo or reptisun UVB bulbs. Don't use any substrate....get a screen cage. Look at the safe plant list for safe plants....pothos plants are common and cheep. Cover the soil with large rocks so the chameleon doesn't ingest it.....id suggest using paper towels to line the bottom for they are easily replaceable...make sure you have enough things for the Cham to climb on, and make sure you have enough plant coverage. If your chameleon is female....other research will be needed for egg laying ect....doooooo as much research possible between now and Tuesday....for no research = a sick or dead chameleon. And also....you got get a water bottle sprayer for humidity, and letting your Cham drink....i dont know how much you have researched....so I'm just throwing this all out, humidity for vields is 50-70% keep it in that range. Should spike to 90% when you spray and thenntrickle down.....keep posting on the forum for questions.....and of course.... Research...also. No waterfalls.

Yeah it is a really hard urge to fight once you start collecting the equipment. I been reading for about 6 weeks and everyday I am tempted to get after one of the two guys I am going to get from Screameleons.

In the long run through I would say you might be better off waiting to buy your cham until so you can provide for it 100%. A few days more patience could very well mean a more years in the life of your happy and healthy cham in the end.
