Hello!
My name is Kym. I'm from Fayetteville, NC. I found this forum while googling (<-- is that a word?) some questions about my new Veiled Chameleon. I figured, I'd have a lot more questions in the future and made an account!

So many knowledgeable people on here, I'm really excited to learn more!

Well, without further ado... here is my little guy Frankie (aka Cranky Frankie, because he's such a jerk sometimes!)

He indeed looks healthy.

Do you know how to take care of him? have you read the care sheet? nutrition? lighting? good/guy loading? there's much to learn. You should learn how to breed insect colonies to save $ and unnecessary trips to the pet store. I also learned that I don't have to buy a piece of crap vine from petco for $20-- if you just go outside and see a nice branch, all you need to do is sanitize it in over/bleach and you can use it in your chameleons enclosure. You might also want to invest in a automatic mister.

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome!

I've been reading as much as I can about these little guys, every day I learn something new. I don't think I'm ready for breeding insects, I'm just now getting comfortable with touching the crickets with my bare hands if I accidentally drop too many in his enclosure. Maybe in the future! For now he gets between 10 and 12 sm. crickets a day. I feed them (the crickets) the Flukers High Calcium diet as well as the calcium fortified quencher. Is that ok? Should I switch to something better? I was told no meal worms until he's a little larger to ensure he crushes them properly.

Thankfully I've been able to catch the "decor" vines, limbs, leaves, etc. on sale at petsmart.... but I know when the time comes for a larger enclosure I'll need more! Thanks for the tip! Are there any plants/trees to steer clear from?

As for the mister.... I bought this National Geographic LED Fogger... biggest waste of money ever! It completely soaks the bottom of this enclosure =/ Any recommendations on a better brand?

Thanks in advanced for all of your help!
