New to the addiction

Hi - My name is Suzie and my son Trenton is a new owner of a male veiled named Neil (after Neil Armstrong). He works in a locally owned pet shop and fell in love when the shop owner brought in a couple of chams last December. My son worked extra hours to save up, but was afraid someone would buy him before he could earn enough, so we surprised him and presented Neil as Christmas gift. He is simply awesome. He's about 8 months old.

My son has wanted a cham since he was about 7-years old, but a nephew who owned one at the time discouraged us - I'm glad because he would have been too much work for us at that time. We went with a couple of anoles instead. They were cool, but not exactly the dynamic pet he'd wanted.

My son is now 16 and is so happy to have Neil! From what I understand, we are really lucky in that Neil is very friendly. He comes to the front of the enclosure when he sees my son and loves to climb all over him. Sometimes he even just chills in the palm of his hand or on his shoulder while they surf the web. He's even friendly towards me, which I love.

So glad we found the forum - it's been a great resource over the past three months as we learn the ropes.

Thank you!

Hi Suzie, and welcome to the Chameleon Forums! :) And welcome to you too Neil! :D Neil sure is handsome. If you ever have any questions or need any help, just ask. This is an amazing place full of information! Also... frequent adorable chameleon pictures are always welcome...(hint, hint) ;)

Welcome to the forums!

I've learned a lot from the knowledge base found here, also. There are good people here who really care about these lizards that we love.

It looks like Neil was lucky to have found a nice human family!
