Need your guys INFO...

My wife just informed me that she hasnt seen any poop in our female panthers cage! The female has been showing gravid colors and we think she'll be laying eggs in the next week or so...my question is: does the female not poop regularly when she is gravid? Or do I have something wrong with my female panther??

Often hydration is a problem with gravid females so you may notice that there is a lack of poop and peep! Eggs take A LOT of moisture whilst in the females body so make sure you keep her hydration levels high. Everthing comes out of the same flap so you may find a big poop at the same time as some eggs!!

Ok..so nothing to worry about at this time? WHen do I start to worry if she doesnt lay eggs soon or poops soon?

Has she been eatting? She wont poo if shes not eatting. My females usually go off feed for about a week before laying. Ive had some wc's that would eat right up to the day they laid though. Just depends on the female. But if theyre eatting they should poo.

I wouldn't be overly concerned just yet - although a drop or 2 of cod liver oil can help move things in the egg and poop department if your worried

I'd do a 30 minute shower. If its hydration related often they'll poo in the shower.

Yes shes eating...she ate 2 Superworms yesterday and she has been eating crickets daily! She dont like to be hand fed, she wants to hunt them in her cage!

Does the Cod Liver Oil work? And Texas Panther Man...when should I do the shower for her??

If she'll take horns or silks try those out. She'll take a dump after eatting a few horns those things are full of water.

Put her in the shower tonite and see how she does. She may suprise you and use your shower as a toilet though. lol Im used to it now I clean the shower after each hydration session. Just for my own health/well being. Bleach rocks! lol

I will try the shower thing tonight...but I'll have to order horn or silk worms online, my local pet store dont carry those! Thank you for your help!

Forgot to tell you. I wouldnt give my cham cod liver oil! Thats an old timers trick but I believe in water/showers. Not sure who uses that anymore. When I was in the Cin I used to hear about ppl trying that though. I was always worried about giving that crap to my cham myself.
