well, our latest foster , Taraquin - he is a Affenpinscher - tiny little 5 lbs ,but sadly he got attacked at the sanctuary and had to have surgery on his neck on Christmas eve :( so he is here to recover , its pretty nasty, poor little thing ~ they call me with any "intensive care " cases, no matter the animal or day. I took my daughter with me and we watched the surgery. He is very cute when his head is not all wrapped up in bandages ~ neat little breed :) we just got home with him , it seems all the little special needs guys, furry or scales find their way to my house ( and I could not be happier about it:) )

our poor foster kitten is never going to learn how to act like a cat at this rate :p

Oh, poor baby!!! So glad he has a nice and loving place to recover! Will say a prayer or two for the little guy

He is just so lucky to have you. What will happen to him when he gets getter? I would hope he will have a wonderful forever home.

I am hoping to find him a foster home from here- but....sadly, I think he is starting to have brain swelling - I almost had to take him back at 10:30pm - he still acts "drunk", but there is no way it is still from the surgery gas, and he is running into things ,can't stand and his left eye keeps rolling down in his head - he is on an anti-inflammatory, antibiotic, and 2 dif pain meds, but he is making me very nervous - and even she said she did not think this was going to be a good out come- but........as with little Gail- I WON'T GIVE UP ON HIM but I think I will be at the vets in the am - he is not doing well :( on the up side- he had refused all food and water for the last 3 days, and I did get him to eat a nice size dish of soft food, and got 4 oz of water into him - so that was great , but I had to place a tiny bit of food in his mouth and then he would eat it, and he is having puppy night mares - so I have held him pretty much the whole time he has been here, he was waking up in terror- yelping and screaming - he slept sound as a rock in my arms :) I just hope he will be ok - he is so tiny

Cheryl how do you manage it? I know you are as big a softy as I am, and yet you care for all little animals in need. You just a amaze me. I am so glad there are people like you out there for all the animals in need.

well, this is my FAVORITE quote in the world, and I try to live by it :D and just do my best

They too, are created by the same loving hand of God which created us. It is our duty to protect them and to promote their well-being.

it must have been the meds- lol he is up and going like a little champ :D almost to the point of being a pest- LOL so glad - whewwwwwww

Merry Christmas to you, your family and the little puppy.

thank you :D right back at ya - I just gave him a bath- he has alot more bites we did not see- but they are not really bad ones- but I can tell he felt so much better all clean - he is sound asleep now :) we also put Mindy's Thunder shirt on him, it seem to help calm his little nerves :D

about the only thing that could have made this a better Christmas was if there was a cham under the tree :p - that will come in time :D
