Saturday around 11 ish I started feeling odd. Just shrugged it off and kept pushing. I was preparing for our Sunday feast and my pies needed made the night before to cut back on the "day of" cooking because I make them from scratch anyway, I was seriously struggling. Couldn't focus on my measurements. It was nuts. I finally finished and put the last pie In the oven. Went to the living room and literally just laid down on the floor. Looked at the husband and said, I think I'm having appendicitis. Lucky for us, we actually live directly across the street from the ER. I just walked on over and had the husband stay at home with the kids. Sure enough. Emergency surgery was required. It was on the brink of rupturing! Here's a lovely picture of my incision! Major shout out to BKfritz for rushing over to my house at one in the morning to sit with our three sleeping children so the husband could come wait with me before they took me back. I've never been put under in my life. I was a nervous wreck! I had some trouble waking up from the anesthesia, but the surgery went great! Surgery at 130 this morning, and was home by 630 this evening! Can't even try any of my pies or the wonderful meal my husband prepared for the kids and himself! On a liquid diet til Tuesday then can slowly eat small portion of solid food. No spicey though, and spicey is my favorite!!!
My appendix was 3-4 times the normal size the doc said, I was very lucky it did not rupture!!
