My Cresties!

Thought I'd share my cresties, two gals and two guys. My large male is just going through a shed so I decided no photos for tonight, now I know why he kept barking at me ;)

Here's my littlest guy, Dobbee. Such a sweetie.

Here's my smaller female, also a sweet girl and still unnamed.

Here's my big girl, she's a bit of a jumper but is one very big girl and has some awesome color.

Michele you could always sell me a pair of your cresties, then you would have more time for your chams or (yuk) homework. I keep thinking I need some cresties. Tiff's are so sweet, makes me want some.

they are soo cute! the only thing that scares me is that i heard when they scared their tail falls off! that would freak me out haha

Just depends on the gecko, when they are startled they have the ability to drop their tails (hey it's useful to distract predators ;)). It's actually very uncommon to see a crestie in the wild with a tail. Mine all have their tails, some lose them others don't. Mine better not!

They are grgeous! I love my two, they feel wonderful to hold! Such soft skin and sticky feet! Both mine still have tails. They are surprisingly hardy though - I had to take mine to the vets for worm meds twice and both times he had to hold them really tight to get the tube down their throats. I was so scared that they would drop tails ans there was a heck of a lot of tail wagging going on, but both remain intact. I think they drop only as a last resort, if something had a hold of their tails and they couldn't get free. I really love the tails, and am keen for Splat and Buffie to keep theirs! That is quite odd coming from me as before I got Lily (my first female cham) back in 2008 I almost got a crestie instead but I saw an adult and didn't like their tails! Oh how times change!:D

They are great!! I have 8 now...not sure how that happened  They are a lot of fun and very easy to care for. I would recommend them to anyone. Most Tokay's are much harder to handle (most are WC) and they tend to bite a lot LOL some cresties bite but not many, most are super sweet. I have them from 3yrs all the way down to 1mo...the little ones are jumpy for sure :D Only one of mine doesn't have a tail and that one came that way ;)

Thank you! I think it just depends on the gecko, though I've read most CB cresties don't drop their tails. I had my jumpy gal jump from my kitchen counter to the carpet (thank god) and didn't drop her tail. My cat occasionally hangs on the top of their cages and that doesn't seem to bother them either (well if they see him). My chameleon hated my cat with a passion and stressed him out but the geckos don't seem too annoyed. My big male is so sweet and everytime I open his cage he comes to the top to jump on me. I like to think it's because I'm so irresistable but I think he just wants out ;):p

Yeah somehow I ended up with 4 in a day! They're super fun and so easy, I say they're prettu dumb proof as long as they're healthy. I keep a heater on in my room on low most of the day to keep temps up but that's just about it.

Nice, they look cool. Crazy how its feet are/look so flat.

Their feet are fascinating! I love how their toes curl up the wrong way and they unstick their toes before jumping! Too cute! They may look flat but the undersides are pretty amazing looking!

Here's a pic of Splat's 'palm'!

Jeez! That's amazing, I definitely have not looked at their palms closely. My male would probably bark at me ;)

They have such cool feet! :D They have those lamellae on the underside of the tail tip too. My female is far more sticky than my male, to the point that she can be quite painful if my skin is too dry!
