My Crested Chameleon (Trioceros cristatus) video

Dez

Chamalot Chameleons
UPdate on my little female cristatus.

She is doing well. Getting bigger everyday.

We got her at the Daytona Breeders Expo in August and jumped on the chance to own a captive hatched.

Maybe one day I will find a male to breed with her

Here she is..a super cutie

Such a cool species and so rare to get to see. It's so nice of you to post a video. Really fun to watch!

nat geo was looking for one of these

I know.

They are hoping to find a male for a shoot in Chicago. I am not willing to send my girl to Chicago but I offered to sell them footage as a last resort. In fact most of these shots came from me putting together a sample of shots.

Imports only come in once or twice a year and WCs don't live more than a few months. That's why they are so hard to find

She is a little doll! I don't blame you for not sending her to Chicago. Maybe they will decide to use your footage.

She looks great Dez. My problem was that the males never showed interest in the females. I got my male at 6ish months old and gave him back to the original owner when he was 4 years old because I had moved on and my females died.

I had a WC male too at one point & he was not interested in the girls either. I tried separate and communal housing, outdoors and indoors and it made no difference. Perhaps a bigger sampling to choose from would have been more successful.

Kevin half the male chams you own are not interested in females. I think it is you living in PA, even chams are not happy there.:( Move to FL.

I have had a few WC pairs and the males always head bobbed at the females but the females where never receptive or not healthy enough to breed.
I never got a successful breeding and my WC females died after a few months without the female laying even a wild bred clutch
