Mouth open? Shed?

I have a 6 month old male veiled who is very close to shedding.
He has been basking with his mouth open and I'm wondering if they do this close to or during shed.
He has done this once before when he was younger but lowering the basking temp. fixed this.
His basking temp is 86 and bottom of the cage is 72-75.
I tried lowering the basking temp(raised light) but he just tried to move higher.
Really hoping it is not URI, when looking in his mouth does not appear to be any
mucus or discoloration.
This is not the mouth open shed stretch but just mouth slightly open while basking.

Nobody experience anything like this during shed?
Trying to figure out if a vet appointment is needed.

I would wait until he's done shedding and see if he still does it. Shedding is an uncomfortable time for them so he may just be acting weird.

it is normal in my experience. mouth open is hot for him when he basking. and just misting him more if u noted him shedding soon.

He is healthy and hydrated and I have upped his mistings the whole URI thing is
what had me worried with his mouth open. But he has been basking more with his little white head up.
