If you have ever lived with or been around Irish Wolfhounds you will know how the "boys" can be big "goofballs". They are so sweet but lacking in coordination and i cannot tell you how many bruises i have accumulated over the years with my big furry kids. Dahmraks Pheolan is the newest boy to join the Croghan Clan. He hails from Germany and just turned 1 year old! For his birthday he got a bath and grooming followed by a big marrow bone. Here are a few pics of my baby boy! Slainte' Ruth

Oh how gorgeous! A friend has one called Bryn, she runs a dog bakery (Mrs Bishop's Doggy Deli on fb) and they take part in an annual wolfhound parade in their town! Gorgeous dogs, but they seem to have no idea how big they are!

that's a puppy!!?? lol Does he still have more growing to do? he's gorgeous, I've always admired irish wolfhounds, but I never lived with anyone who likes dogs, so I can't have one

Yes, he's still a growing boy! Male Irish Wolfhounds mature at around 3-4 years of age. His shoulders will widen and his chest will drop as he matures. He may also grow 1-2 more inches at the shoulders. Right now he stands 37 inches and when on his hind legs standing he is over 7 feet! Although i REALLY try to discourage that behavior! LOL! Ruth

It is my dream to someday have an Irish Wolfhound! I think they are the prettiest dogs and love their personalities! He is a gorgeous boy!

We have Irish Wolfhound puppies due Thanksgiving Day! Can't say i am too happy about the timing ... but ... i won't have to cook a turkey either! LOL! If you would like to see the parents of the litter take a look at our website www.largepaws.com Slainte' Ruth

Love love love!!! Big puppies have the worst coordination! But it's so adorable with their big paws going everywhere lol. He's beautiful! I had to trim an irish wolfhound's nails once. OMG the nail was so thick I had to use both hands, I thought I wasn't going to be able to do it!

LOL, around here i am the "toe nail nazi". Even my vet and our handler cannot trim those nails. The nail cutters that i found do the best job look like tree pruners! Ruth :)

So how often does your puppy take you for a walk?:D You look so tiny next to him. But what a beautiful dog. never had one of those as mine are inside dogs, can get to -30 where I live, I just can't see him inside.:D:confused::confused:

LOL, thankfully all of our wolfies are trained for the showring and are usually obedient and well behaved on a lead .... however .... if something really interested them say a squirrel , an ice cream cone (that poor child i did by him another one) and i am not paying attention lets say i get "dragged" to the area that interests them. That's exactly what I felt like I was doing! Trimming branches! lol
We plan on getting a Bull Mastiff next.
