A while ago McDonald's put out their new poutine-I've been sorta wanting to try it, but I wanna hear from anybody who already has. Is it any good? Worth the buy?

Thanks,
Pat

Let's break this down:

1. Poutine
2. McDonalds

Nope.

Edit: Full disclosure - I haven't had it. :D

I mean, Harvey's Poutine is AMAZING but never tried McDonald's. I hear that McDonald's uses a tiny amount of fries for their poutine though.

Oh Canada, with your glorious abundance of fish and fowl, why must poutine be your culinary achievement?

HAHAHAHAHA!

Hey let’s not forget some of our other stellar achievements like Beaver Tails, Butter Tarts, Ketchup Chips, Nanaimo Bars and Thrills Gum. <- It still tastes like soap!

LOL! I haven't stepped foot in a McDonalds (or Taco Bell etc.) in over ten years when I left obesity and diabetes behind. I wouldn't know what they serve these days, but I'm sure it ain't good for you.

ODE TO POUTINE

O Canada!
Your poutine is out of hand.
Cheese curds, fries, and gravy all across the land!
With clogged arteries, we ingest more
The True North brown and sticky!
Butts fat and wide
O Canada! We blame it all on thee.

Thank you Laurie! :D

We gave up fast food, soda, processed food and went vegetarian about ten years ago. My wife and daughter lost over 100 lbs. each. We currently would be considered athletes and do P90X and Insanity together. At nearly 50 years old, I'm in the best shape of my life. I had high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, sleep apnea, chronic migraines and was sick with pneumonia every winter. The way I was heading, I didn't have much time left.

A lifetime of two migraines a week went away and I haven't even gotten a cold in nine years.

And the food we eat now is amazing.

Oh no!! never heard of this stuff before!

I used to dump tomato sauce and grated mozzerella cheese on ff's
and stick it in the oven for a few minutes.
I thought I 'invented' it!!

Is there a tomato sauce version of poutine??

Of course! It would qualify as one of them there gourmet poutines. Some popular variations include angry poutine, smoked meat poutine and even poutine with bacon on it.

I normally try to eat healthy but with all this chatter of poutine I had to succumb to some of my more baser urges today and have one. It wasn’t McDonald’s poutine so I can’t report on that but one from downtown Ottawa’s many corner chip wagons. Deeelish. We even have a poutine-fest here every fall.

Protip: The poutine is best when the cheese curds squeak.

I like the bacon idea (and maybe some blue cheese), but will pass on the squeaky curds ;)

It all sounds very unhealthy, so it must be good :D
