Lousie (Parsonii) getting a lil outside time!

Had to clean her cage today, which is a pretty big undertaking considering its size, so she was outside a bit. Pretty overcast, but she still got some nice UV. Her green coloration is really starting to kick in.

Thanks!!

Bobby she is beautiful!! You have a winner there, and a girl who just looks like a mommy waiting to be.:D:D:D:D

I have found they are just like plants, after being under artificial lights they are VERY sensitive to sunlight so break them in slowly by taking them outside on cloudy days at first.

Parsonii can handle some direct sunlight just as long as they have got a shade spot that they can escape too. Their super soft scales is a big concern though.

Good feedback, thanks to you both. TO yoru point, today was overcast, no direct sun. May do the same with the other female tomorrow as weather looks to be the same.

I think for the long term outside time, I will place cages under a tree where they can get the direct sunrise, but my 11AM, they are shaded by tree for rest of the day. They will also have plants in the cages to get out of AM sun if they would like.

You break in your chameleons?!?

I concur with you that chameleons have got similar husbandry requirements to plants. Especially with Calumma parsonii in general as many plants require a cool down period to productively reproduce for agricultural purposes. Parsonii are similar as requiring a cool down period to thrive and apparently reproduce too.

Yes Jeremy I break them in to natural sunlight so their UV sensitive skin does not burn.
