on the outside of my chameleons cage! My chameleon was in there so not sure why this guy was lurking around! He was very cool though and he jumped about 4 foot off the cage after I snapped a few shots!! I think it is a Cuban Anole but it is rather large so not sure. Anyone else know what kind of lizard it is???

That's a cool looking dude! I agree that he was looking for free handouts, orrrrrrr was taunting the cham! "Nanny, nanny, boo, boo! I'm free and you're stuck in there!!" :D

yeah I am thinking it saw a few loose straggling crickets or something! I have never seen one that big. I have seen green lizards but never one of this size! My cham was just sitting there as chilled as could be! Sometimes I leave the door open going in and out and all the little anoles come in the cage and I will see the bottom eating these huge crickets. I don't know how they do not choke. I always gotta shu them out so my chamelon does not eat them!

that was right cuban night anole can be mean almost like tokays lol

ok thanks for the ID. Jann B has one as a pet actually but I don't remember him being that big nor have I seen one before like this. And yes it was mean!!!

I always attracted wild tree frogs to the cricket bin when I kept them on the porch! I had a few frogs that would take crickets from my hand after a while! I didn't know Cuban knight anoles were that big...

you are right its a cuban anole those guys get big i would of kept it!!! good thing you got him to run away that might of been a nasty throwdown between the two

Thats the prettiest looking cuban anole Ive ever seen. Never seen one that had that much diverse coloration. Ive only seen green ones in pics.

Ive got the geckos that try to snag stray cricks in my garage. A cpl have really grown big this yr. I must be dropping too many cricks. lol

I was thinking the same thing. He was awesome looking! He jumped about 4 foot into the bottom of my palm tree and disappeared. I hope he sticks around!

are you kidding? I barely could snap the picks and he was gone and running all over the cage to get away! Never knew those suckers could jump like that though! lol.

He probably freaked your Cham out, he was probably like, "Those damn crackheads are runnin' around on my roof again!"

To bad he was a speedy crackhead and not chill. You could've had a new friend:)

He looks just like Dulce. The males are bigger than the females. If we have a cold winter he want make it outside. They need to stay hot.

BTW Dulce is extremely sweet. She has a free range in my house.

I remember yours Jann but she was alot smaller. How in the heck did you ever tame yours anyways? All the ones I have ever seen are very skiddish and one was opening its mouth at me when it got cornered. Did you raise yours from a baby?

In miami dade and broward area there are tons of knight anoles. Apparently they frequently eat green and brown anoles.

I don't see them too often and like I said had never saw one this big. My chameleons try and eat the anoles too. I don't feed them to them but once in awhile they get them outside in their enclosures.
