Kinyongia xenorhina

More pics of the females!! The one is beautiful. There was an import a while back but only males came in. Definitely a cool species!

How long have you had them, and how many do you have? Ive never heard of anyone successfully keeping and breeding them. Well one person:)

Hi Thanks for the nice coments:)
I hatched out 4 babys out of 6 eggs,i will post a picture of the babys.
Eggs hatched after 11 months incubation(roomtemperature).
The bad news is that i whas nor able to keep them alive:( after 3 weeks one died another 4 weeks later another one...
The oldest one whas almost 4 months and died,i dont know the couse of thead.
Babys are extremly shy just like oweni babys... i think one of the things that they dont adapt well to captivity.
Adults are after acclimatisation and deworming relative hardy.
I kep 5 pairs 5.5,a good frend of my imports them directly out of a chameleonfarm from Uganda, quality whas very Good.
Regards
Jurgen

Uganda has not given exportquota's jet for carpenteri.
Experiances with a few pairs that made it to the farm in Entebbe where very poor.
The live in the higest regions of the Rwenzori Mts(up to 2300m) and they have a very sharp drop of temperatures at night(allmost freezing)
When they dont have that for a longer period of time(few weeks)they go in stress and die.
I dont think its a good species for captivity...

Thank you for sharing this gorgeous species with us. The little babies were absolutely adorable. How sad that that all passed away. May you have much better luck with this next clutch.
