Kinyongia matschiei hatching

Fifteen months to the day, the first one has pipped the shell. Incubation temps were 62F night 69F day in 12 hour cycles. One slight exception to that is a few days in the heat of the summer it reached 71F during the day, but nothing to worry about.

Sorry for the poor quality cell phone photo. I'll get better photos later when I'm not super busy.

Thanks everybody! Here's some new pics. He came out with all the yolk sac absorbed, big and healthy. I love how defined his bands are when he is a little stressed out.

Mike he looks good. How many are in this clutch? I hope they all come out a well as this little one did. Don't forget a weekly picture update for us.:):)

Ok cool looking baby. . Still a newbie but what is the common name of this cham any any adult pics of them

Some people refer to them as giant monkey tailed fischers chameleons, or just giant fischers chameleons. They are the largest in the Kinyongia complex. Full grown specimens are impressive. Do some searches here and you'll find lots of photos and info.

Two more pipped this morning. Photos are of the same one, the other one "turtled" his head back into the shell when the flash went off.

Mike how in the world can you skip a chance to introduce new people to these wonderful chams? They are so lovely and different from mainstream chams, you need to show them. Just a warning, if you don't I will go find links to paste in your thread:eek:

Sorry, yes, go for it. :) I'm just super busy right now. Self employed and buried in orders and now baby chams, so that is my priority ATM. ;)
