I just caught the last five minutes of this movie. The patterns of the raptors are exactly that of an Ambilobe Panther Chameleon. That strong white lateral line. The white line lipstick of the mouth. The bars. Complete rip off! So am I to believe, that the awesome mighty Velociraptor evolved into the sweethearted panther chameleon?

Sadly no, there are no raptor genes in your cham. :) Dinosaurs and lizards are completely different groups of reptiles - and some argue that dinosaurs shouldn't be considered reptiles at all.

However, I do find it a credible guess that the coloration used for a movie dinosaur would be taken from the most theatrical of modern lizards! :D

You'd be surprised :D
