We're almost ready! Built the enclosure a week ago and today the husband built my stand!

We used a washing machine drain pan and will have tubing running to the sump pump eventually so there won't be any buckets to have to carry! I have some pretty chronic back pain so the less I have to lug around the better. He even said he's going to run a water line to the enclosure so I don't have to haul water to fill the misting system bucket! I really am too spoiled :)

Good job. Can't wait to see the new setup

Me either!!! I could have worked on it all day if the hardware store had been open!!

Anyone have any ideas on how to attatch the stick to the screen so the screen doesn't rip?

thumb tacs with a little hot glue on them. You could have just shot me a text and got the answer lol

I forgot about the thumb tacs. :) I drilled holes through the sticks and tied them in with fishing line. I'll probably get some tacks to reinforce them though. :) :)

Thank you! I have to add a real plant or two yet but other then that I think the inside might be done! I added chicken wire to the outside after this picture was taken. Screen to keep the bugs in, wire to keep kids and cats out. Hopefully I can get a misting system this week and bugs and a baby next week!:D

Looks great:D

Do you use the real fine aluminum window screen on the sides or is that just a smaller metal screen like the one used on top?

I used regular screen on the sides (to keep the bugs in) and 1/2" wire mesh on the top (I heard window screen can block out some UVB's). The cage is built out of 2x2 with the regular screen on the inside of the frame. I have cats and kids so I put chicken wire one the outside of the frame (to keep curious critters out) :) I used chicken wire because it block the view less than the mesh. :)

What? No way. That does not feel like metal window screen. It's much softer! I'd swear that was mesh screen.

It's not the metal window screen :) I do believe it is pet resistant fiberglass screen...maybe...I know it's not the aluminum stuff. I shall have to ask the handyman!! :p

The set up looks awesome. I'm planning to build something similar. Let me know if you find out what kind of screen it is for sure.
