Well after a bit of thought about plumbing I decided to try my hand at a Drainage System that could be moved easily and had a low profile to it. This system is universal with all 2' x 2' footprints. My cages are 2' x 2' x 3', but this can be used with 4' cages as well.

I can make these to sell if people are interested, but I'd need a minimum order to make it worth buying the materials. These are 100% leak proof and can be plumbed to a bucket below via a 1/4" tube. I made two versions. A single and a double.

Let me know whatcha think?

Thanks guys. Prices are up in the air right now. I'm not looking to make a killing off them, it will really be based off how many people want them and the materials I'll need.

Rough estimate would be $65.00, but let me see how much materials I'll need.

The clear one in the top picture is mine. I love it! Easy to move, super easy to clean. Well worth every penny. I'll definitely have one under every cage. :)

so is the inside of it sloped towards the faucet valve? I have the same cage it looks like as you, and it seems that the water would still accumulate on the cage floor unless the cage floor itself was sloped.

The weight of the plant slopes it all to the center of the cage, where the holes in the floor allow the water to pass through to the drainage tray below. The floor inside the drainage tray is sloped and all the water runs to the front and out the valve.

Works like a charm and I even Rain-X'ed the tray to allow the water to run off quicker.

Plexiglas is expensive :( If I can get a few more people interested the price would drop. I'd only get a little off each one and I've got about 4 hours in each one I've made.

But, I know what you mean.

Id be interested in getting one, depending on what the price ends up to be. Can u also make them in different sizes?

Nice design !!! glad someone is trying to come up with a drainage "fix".

Curious how long have you used it? Does any of the gunk from plant water debris clog up the facuet or tubing?

I would be interested in a 18"x18" size as well as a 24"x24" size.

Thanks for the kind words. I think any gunk build up would be determined upon how big the holes you drill in the bottom of your cage floor.

I've had one set up for a month and no troubles yet. However, I'm not to concerned, because everything can be disassembled easily and boiled or bleached if need be. I'll keep you guys updated on a cost. It all depends on the interest and how many I'd be making.

Custom ones can be made, but based solely off your very accurate measurements. If people are interested you can pm me or post here and I'll keep a running tally. As I said before, it's solely based on materials. Th 1/4" plexiglas is not cheap. Maybe we can find a mold maker :)

Slimline Drainage System

To me the cost is worth it. It makes the cage so much easier. I plan on getting more chams and want to keep maintenance as easy and quick as possible to give me more time to enjoy my chams. It also looks good and helps to hide the bucket.

I would love to try for my 3 cham cages.

But, with that heavy material, I'm guessing the shipping fee will be a PITA (probably will even cost more than the actual product).

I've used mine for about 3 weeks and haven't had any problems with it at all. My drip goes straight throught through the plant and There has been no problem with clogging at all.

I may be interested in one of these in a few months. Are you still making these and are you still asking $65?

I would be interested in 4.
2 24x24
2 18x18

Pleas let me know how much it would be and shipping also
