Hunger strike

umm..
is anybody has a remedy to put an end to a hunger strike?
my baby cham used to eat crickets from the tub.
and he eat them like crazy (20 crix a day).
but since 3 days ago, he just eat 1 or two.

I have a left over fly culture from kammer.
So, I feed him 30 (I don't exactly saw him eating those flies.. but i have only seen 2 dead flies today.. So, I am guessing he's ate all the rest).

I have ordered silkworms from coastal (which will come in 3 days or so).
meanwhile, i only have crix available.
Is there a way to coax him to eat some at least until the worms come.

Also, today i saw white stuffs from his nose.. i'm guessing i am over supplementing him. So, i will not dust my crix for a while (Is that wise? Or should i keep dusting but just reduce the amount?).

Thank you

Geckoxp is on a distinguished road
Being a newbie myself I have went through this and I am sure will continue going through this...

There can be more then a few things as to why your cham is eating less. The major reason I have found out is that the cham will shortly go through a shed and the cham gets annoyed. Usually a dark color will signify this. If the animal is not stressed then look at the temps in the cage and make sure all is well there. A cham will slow there metabolism down and focus more in trying to keep warm. If both of those are good keep an eye on if your cham is going to the bathroom..if he is he is eating something. The best way to see if he is ok is to measure his weight every other day and see if it remains the same or if hes losing weight. If he is losing weight then I would get the cham to the vets...I don't think you need to worry to much here as it sounds like your cham is eating.

If all else fails do not feed your cham for a day (maybe 2) to get his hunger back up and he will go for the cricks. I had to do that with my cham recently right after 6 months and it worked fine.

Anyways hope all that works....just a checklist I go through if I feel something may be wrong.

Screameleons will become famous soon enough
Panthers can go without food for a few days without food. Don't stress to much over a couple days. The most important thing is that they continue to drink. We have observed that panthers that are getting ready to shed will stop eating for a few days.

For now, just keep an eye on him and make sure he remains active and alert. Keep us posted.
