how much food is too much food.

Hi All..
my veiled chameleon is 4 months old now.
I normally feed my chameleon about 18 crix (1.5") a day.
but lately he's getting more and more voracious...
I also change my gutload to cricketfood.com's gutload

He keep going back and forth his feeding cup to see if there's more crix inside.

Yesterday he breaks his record eating close to 32 crix and about 6 small silkies.

He look a bit chubby today...
so I cutback his food.. to 12 crix and 2 small silkies.

but he seemed angry and keep looking at the feeding cup all day long..
as soon as the crix there, he will start to brighten up and show a lot of greens and yellow and start eating them again..
Now, i have no problem providing him food.. and i love the fact that his appetite is great.. but how much food is too much food?
I don't want him to be overweight.

he'll eat close to 40 med crix/day if i let him (not that i ever let him do that).
Should i gave him whatever he wants? or should i start regulate his diet?

how many crix i should give him perday?

thanks in advance for the advise

Two things:

1. Only 4 months old

2. He's a male

Let him eat all he wants right now! He's obviously experiencing a little growth spurt and is no where near his adult size yet.
Soon you'll worry because he isn't eating anything for days at a time....enjoy his current healthy appetite!

Are you hand feeding? or cup feeding? or do you let them loose in the enclosure?
