How to identify gravid female?

Is there a way to identify a gravid female? Any behavior changes, physical changes and anomalies that may signal shes about to lay a clutch of eggs? I have a female and I know Im supposed to give her privacy during this time period. How do I know that is her time?

Thank you!

Assuming you're talking about a veiled...

First of all they usually get mustardy yellow splotches and bright blue dots when they reach sexual maturity. When they are producing eggs they will often take on a dark background color...but not always.

When she gets close to laying she will likely roam the cage looking for a place to lay the eggs...so it's important that you provide her with a suitable place. She may eat less. She should drink more. She may bask more.

Once she starts digging don't let her see you watching her while she digs. If she's up in the branches you can feed and water her.
