PANTHER ambilobe - male, 5 months.
2nd day in his new vivarium.

I have no problem getting the viv between 50-70% humidity (i read that was the ideal humidity for panthers). But the humidity does not stay there and quickly drops says my hygrometer.
I have a small humidifier (pureguardian) at the bottom. Also two live plants (Pothos and Umbrella plant(Schefflera Arboricola)). I use a pressurized spray bottle and am working on making/buying a water dripper.

1. Could it be the cheap non-digital hygrometer gauge giving an innacurate reading?

2.How do i maintain the humidity?

THANKS!

The easiest way would be to wrap 1, 2 or 3 sides of the enclosure with a shower curtain. You can stick velcro up top to make taking it down and putting it on easeier.

I use shower curtain liners to cover the back, and one side of the cage. I may also cover the top half of the other side.
Not only does this help with HR, it catches any splash-back from the dripper and mistking so I dont get water on the floor.
