hey guys, well i put my male and female yemens together the other day, they mated 4 times, then at the end my female went really dark and started hissing at my male, now i didnt get the best look at her proper colour, whether she went black or just a really dark green because she was at the back of the viv behind some leaves, now today she has still got some of the receptive colours, the blue on her veil, and orange and blue splodges on her body, im just wondering if this is normal after a successful mating? my common sense tells me that she shudnt be showing these colours anymore if the mating was successful, but maybe im wrong. im thinkin it wasnt a successful mating now

Some females have these colors untill they lay her eggs others turn to normal colors.
Dont worry, normally as they have mate four times... it will be succesfull.

True, if you want to know for sure put her near the male again and if she turns black and starts hissing then she is gravid.

My female Veiled never even turned receptive colors. I thought I noticed her showing some after I left them together for a few days and then weirdly the only other time she showed them was for a bit while she was digging! Even when I showed her to the male-nothing!

yer good idea chris, i might do that , just didnt really wanna stress her too much.

ahh so some chams react differently to bein gravid then, i think ill just go with the flow, if theyre fertile thats cool, if not then never mind.

My female Tilly has never reacted with colours or anything else to anything! She is very layed back and does not seem to have colour changing abuiltities. She is always a lovely bright green with orangy markings (orangy markings since 5 months) She does have very very suptle darker spots which show occassionally (I presume when she is unhappy or not warm enough) but thats it!
