Hey everyone, new here so thought I'd share info. I have a jacksons chameleon, I've had him for a little over a month now,his names action jackson. Currently housed in a Zoomed 16x16x30,he's small yet, probably 3.5",but certainly growing. The enclosure has a fogger set to go off 15 minutes every hour,a croton Petra plant,a bromeliad, some fake vines and mopani wood. Lighting is a Zoomed blue bulb 40w, and a Zoomed 5.0 uvb. All set on timers to run 12 on 12 off. I hand spray multiple times per day,and he's cup fed from a magnetic pangea rock dish, dubias, fruit fly,and a variety of worms, whatever the local pet store gets in.
This weekend I just about got done building his permanent home a 24"x24"x36" enclosure mostly screen. I also have a mist king starter system coming in.

Welcome to the forums and Very nice looking setup, great job! The only thing I would say is ditch the fogger. Not required at all, especially if you're going to be using a mistking.

I agree to a degree, but that's like saying hey, throw out $60 lol. I'll keep it in my house runs very dry due to forced heat and air,and the low laying fog is an effect everyone seems to enjoy :)
Thanks for the feedback!

If you're doing it for aesthetics, then fair enough. As long as you're not expecting it to keep humidity up in the cage, your mistking will do that 10x better. I'm really digging the cage though. I wish I could be this handy!

Yea it was alot of my best friend who is a carpenter to be honest I helped don't get me wrong but he did the stuff to make it look that nice loo. Yea the fogger is just for looks mostly.
Took forever to decide how to seal the wood,I went with butchers Block sealer since it's food safe. The back wall will be lined with the green Zoomed carpet and have some varying pieces of mopani attached to it with vines interconnecting them.

Big Hello, you are doing your first cham in style. That enclosure it fantastic.

For a new owner you are doing great, I use a white light not blue, but have no reason the think what I do is better. I will offer one bit of advice. I would not use the carpet as there is no way to clean it and all it will do is harbor bacteria. That is asking for problems.

So welcome again, we are glad you joined and and lots of people are here with help for any questions you might have. Also you joined the correct way!! You posted pictures of your sweet tiny jacksons. We all love pictures.:):)

Thanks laurie. Yea I've kept reptiles for about 25 years now, snapping turtles, painted turtles, various tree frogs (amphibians I know lol) house geckos, an iguana,a savanna monitor, tokay gecko, crested geckos, Burmese python, corn snakes, and currently run a fully stocked mixed reef tank on a nano box led system.
I've always wanted to keep a jackson but wanted to wait till I had alot of experience and money and time under my belt.
So what would you suggest for a background cover? Don't really wanna paint it,or get involved in a foam back ground.

He's a real cutie! I love Jacksons chameleons. I lost mine about 4 months ago but he lived for almost 8 years! He was awesome!! You have a beautiful set up. Enjoy your little guy!

Yes I was reading about yours being fed a variety of different foods,I think once he's a little more settled I will try this out. Tha k you for the kind words!!

Yes, my Oscar is around 8 years old now also and still doing good. Shes about 15" Except for my two bad chams I got recently all my pets are old and passing one by one. When they're that old they've seen a lot of stuff that's gone on in my life so it's tough to let go. But the memories will always be there.
I've always wanted a salt water tank! The fish are just beautiful. Their incredible color reminds me of chams.
