ok so i noticed about 5 days ago the crickets I gave him to eat were still wandering around his cage. So I checked daily and it seems he is not eating at all. I figured maybe he is gonna shed, but he has not.
Yesterday it seemed he only wanted to open one eye and not the other. He would only open it sometimes. Today i went and found him at the bottom of his cage which is odd hes always high up. When i go to pick him up hes not very responsive he will climb up my arm but blindly with both eyes closed.
He is not his usual bright blue he is darker and skinny skinny.
He has a little bump on the outside of his left lip area.
Someone please help i have no idea whats wrong
hes pale and wont open his eyes period

Fill this out please.

Hi. Welcome to the board. I'm sorry your chameleon is not doing well. You should probably fill in the HOW TO ASK FOR HELP form. Just click that link, copy the questions, paste them into a reply and add your info.

I suspect your chameleon will need to see a vet. You might want to start calling around to find a vet with chameleon experience.

Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - panther chameleon, male, age:8 months. I have had him for about 6months now.
Handling - Every other day, i'm not sure if over handling is bad but i would love to play with him daily.
Feeding -I am feeding him adult crickets. 4-6 a day depending on the size. I gut load my crickets with flukers orange cubes. complete cricket diet. flukers high-calcium cricket diet.
Supplements - I dust with rep cal multivitamins and rep cal calcium with vitD
vitamins 2 times a week and calcium 1 time a week
Watering - I use a misting system. I mist 4 times a day for 15 second intervals. I have seen him drink but not everytime im looking at him.
Fecal Description - his waste has been either dark brown or white. brown is runnier and white is pretty solid. He has never been tested for parasites
History - i purchased him from flchams

Cage Info:
Cage Type - his cage is all screen. 24x24x48
Lighting - I have 2 lights a 75 watt heat bulb i do 12 hours on 12 hours off for basking. 5.0 Fluorescent Bulb i also do 12 on 12 off.
Temperature - the top of he cage his basking area sits at around 86 degrees F and the bottom of the cage sits around 80 degrees. Lowest over night temp is 80 degrees. I measure these with in cage electric thermometers, one sits in the top of the cage the other sits at the bottom
Humidity - humidity levels are between 80 in the day and low of 65 at night. I use the auto misting system and the heat to keep it humid. I measure it with a humidity gauge i keep in the cage
Plants - No live plants
Placement - He is located in a walk in closet of good size. I would try my living room but he does not like my cats or dogs. So I keep him solitary which he seems to like much much better.
Location - I live in mcallen Texas which is Deep south texas.

Current Problem - I posted a short video i can post pictures or more videos anything you all need

How long have you been using calcium with d3 for and how often? overdosing on d3 can lead to all sorts of issues.

I am sorry Malygos is not well. Are both of his eyes always closed? Also, how long has that bump been on his mouth for?

Your supplementing sounds wrong. Should be plain calcium without D3 everyday. Vit/min and calcium w/ d3 once a month. He also looks dehydrated.

i have used the calcium with d3 since i bought him. and the calcium powder 2 times a week very very light dusting
as of today yes his eyes are both closed always
and the bump is like a week old
i been keeping a close eye on him since he got the bump and it seems its been downhill :(
poor guy i want him to feel better
im super worried

I have not even been able to find straight calcium powder
they all have d3 in it
his water cubes and i also have calcium for gutloading would that be enough for his daily calcium?
should i add more misting cycles or just make them longer?

Your chameleon does look very sick. I think he is not well hydrated. I understand that you say his urate is white, but you are providing water for a minute every day. I think you need to a) add a dripper which runs for hours every day and b) increase misting times to get that cage soaked at least 4 times a day. The cage should be dripping water.

I strongly recommend a garden sprayer, the kind you pump up. You can find them at any place with a good garden department. They are sold for herbicides. That will let you soak that cage. I have old lady wrists so things like that matter to me.

Give him a long, warm shower in your own bathtub to try to hydrate him. He may not like it but it is for his own good. He needs a reptile vet ASAP. They can do blood work to check the chemical imbalance in his system and likely give him a shot of something

I'm sorry I can't help you more. Good luck, I am pulling for him to get better.

he has an automatic misting system and ok i can do that
ill make sure he has more access to mistings and dripping system
any medicines in mind?
and when you mean soaked you mean like it just rained in his cage wet?

thanks so much ill get on it asap!
ill keep yall posted on what the vet says tomorrow

Yup...the cage should be dripping...from the top, from the leaves, everywhere. Some chameleons need that "rainstorm" to convince them it's okay to drink.

I look forward to hearing what the vet says.

im giving him a war bath right now and made a dripper with the faucet. He is drinking! quite a bit actually.
He opened his eyes too!
the only thing is it looks wierd like his eye is open but i cant see his eye ball like i
used too. Its open but sunken in when opened.
oh my :(

Sorry to be the one to just say this, but he needs a vet ASAP or you will lose him very soon. Good luck, I hope he makes it.

Excellent! His eyes opening is a very good sign, even if they are still sunken. They won't fix themselves over night. Give him another good shower again before you go to the vet and follow Eliza's advice about dripping/misting

Best of luck! :) However once this ordeal is over you need to review your gut loading. Get rid of those crap orange cubes and switch to fresh fruits and veggies :) Search sandrachameleon, she has some great info on gut loading!
As i said best of luck and hope he recovers well.
