My female spayed veiled chameleon is extremely dehydrated.
It's been really hot these past couple days, and when I came home today she was laying at the bottom of her cage. She's pale, eyes sunken in, and lethargic. I have a vet appointment but the soonest they could get me in is 2 1/2 hours from now. She's not drinking at all. I'm a wreck over here, it all happened so fast yesterday she was fine!

She's sitting in her cage now, I put her on a top branch (her favorite) and I've been misting periodically. I also have a drip system by the leaves near her but she shows no interested and has kept her eyes closed for the most part. The light on her cage is off.

I'm so scared to lose my friend. Any advice until I can get her to the vet?

I used a dropper and kept putting a little water around my Jackson's mouth. He would then open his mouth and let me put little bit in his mouth. Hoping for the best for you!

Definitely try that- or a light mist on her- try maybe some fruit (watermelon) very little-

What i do is rub the fruit on her mouth until she opens and then shoot some water in with a little dropper i have.

Good luck :)

Still haven't seen her drink anything but her color has improved and she is walking around. headed to the vet now, wish us luck!

Please don't SHOOT water into your chameleon's mouth...it could end up in the lungs and kill it. Ease any liquids you need to put in its mouth in a little at a time.

Good luck at the vets.

Went to the vet, she was anemic and too sick for blood work. Got shots of iron and antibiotics and was given some to take home. Unfortunately she didn't make it through the night. I lost my little buddy and I'm super lost :(
