Help! Baby dying!!!
I just bought a few babies from someone and 1 came in and his eyes were closed. I don't know if there is anything else i can do to help him. He is only 6 weeks old and looks healthy although he is smaller than all the rest. But on the first day his eyes were closed and he remains that way. He has not eaten and today he isn't even holding on to the branches. I feel there is probably nothing i can do to help him but i am hoping that someone knows of something that i might do to bring him around. I have kept him very well hydrated and have isolated him from the others. Does anyone have any ideas that could help?
Debby

I was just going to say make sure he gets enough water. What type of cham is he? If he is that young I heard not to use a basking lamp for them but I could be wrong. Im pretty sure you have UVB light.

Did they come with health guarantee? Most breeder offers 1 week. Good luck!
What type of panther? |

Well, If you bought them from a breeder there should be a 5 day health guarantee? What you are describing doesn't sound good
I do find putting babys outside in the morning/or afternoon for some sun does help.

its a side striped chameleon (rudis), apparently they were only discovered 5 years ago and only grow to around 5-6 inches. because of this, we cant find very much info on them. we have spoken to different cham breeders who have given different info for lookin after them i.e different temps, different diets etc but known have been helpfull when today when they both started to become ill and one dying. a vet has said that its nothing we have done but something that has already been wrong with them when we gt them for them to fall ill in such a short time.
the shop we bought them from gave us all of the stuff we needed to keep them and said if we needed any help to just 'ring him'...... we've tried this and he didn't seem to want to know! so, if anyone has any idea what could be wrong with the one we have left then please help! i dont think he has much time left with us. |

Hi Debby,
Take him outside as long as it is not to drastic... A drastic change in his enviromentcould be very stressfull at this point and could send him on his way. Sometimes the little guys just don't make it. 6 weeks is still very young. I would seperate him from the others, maybe set up a tub for him and give him everything he needs, maybe he will pull through. Good Luck Debby... Best wishes from this end. I really wouldn't know what other emergency treatments you could do with a baby this size. Maybe someone else has some ideas. ~Joe |
