alright, so i just put my crested gecko up to my opened veiled cage to see what she would do, both are roughly about the same size without tail. *my crestie doesnt have one :() lol. anyways, she sat there perched getting her tounge ready to strike. lol just thought it was cute and thought i'd share

Was probably trying to eat the crested, and I don't find it particularly cute or funny.
You are stressing out the chameleon and could have harmed it, as well as the gecko.

I feel like this may be stressing out your chameleon and gecko... and quite possibly the chameleon was hoping for a nice gecko snack. I would recommend keeping them out of eyesight of each other, to avoid any issues. Just my opinion.

no sir, but i will deffinatly take one tomorrow. it will happen again haha

I'm sorry, but I fail to see the humor in this...

she wasnt stressed, very seldom do i ever see her stressed, shes always light in color, and i dont do anything to make her stressed. i just wondered what would happen if she came in contact with another animal and sure enough, she wanted to eat it. as far as my gecko had no clue as to what was going on. you guys must be thinking i stuck the crestie in the cage with her. no not at all. relax guys i dont do anything to stress or harm animals.

doesn't sound like much of a big deal, no worse than showing them a mirror, but then again eh, what do i know

Some people on this forum are great. When have you ever seen a chameleon try to eat when they are stressed? Never, thats when. Put the pitchforks down and get the boxers unbunched. Ive heard of funnier things but hurting his animals he was not. Dont make a habit of playing the "what will scare my chameleon game" but seriously, breeders showing males their reflection to get good pictures for their websites is more stressful Im sure.

I totally agree, MAYBE the gecko was scared and thats a big MAYBE. That gecko probably didn't even notice the chameleon! I bet the chameleon was just EXTRA excited for an exotic snack!(I would never feed a gecko to a cham) I think a lot of people on here are VERY VERY over protective in everything (not a bad thing) but sometimes it gets a little crazy, like this. I can understand your concern but I think sometimes it gets a little over the top. We shouldn't just bash someone because he is doing something wrong or "un-educated"(for lack of a better word) on the 110% proper way to do everything with chameleons. There should be a lot more constructive criticism and less shooting people down because you don't agree with what he/she is doing. Its is fine to disagree but you should at least point out flaws and corrections(in most cases) so they can learn something instead of seeing 10 posts Saying "Oh, thats horrible" or "I would never do that" and thats all...

Not trying to point any fingers or stir anything up just throwing in my 2 cents. Spend it how you like! :D Just trying to help out the little guy a little here. I know I have learned a lot from the forums here and I hope to teach it to many! I would love to see more teaching and helping and less feuds.

That is not cool . . . especialy because you said no sir. But you will take one tomorrow it will happen again haha. I mean wtf!? You are stressing the gecko out. You never know, there might actualy be an acident. Like Ive heard of before where a guy was holding a baby veiled on his finger and was talking to another person and an adult female veiled behind him snaged the baby and it was gone!

I mean I have fed little geckos from my garden but they are as common as flies, but you doing that isnt right.

exactly, and ALOT less stressfull then showing her a male she dispises..

And a female doesnt get stressed seeing a male or despise him, she chooses to mate with him or not, if it is a male and she is ready to breed she will breed probably with whatever other male veiled it is. She wont be picky

Alot of breeders actualy do that when their males arent really interested in a female, if they think there is another male around they will think twice about passing up a female. Otherwise the breeder will just take out another male and show it to the other male. But thats not to say they are stressing out so badly that they are going to die. If they want to advertise their males they put the 2 males next to eachother so the one flairs up and shows its extreme colours.

Your going to get these negative sides when you post...sorry but it happens. I dont find it funny or cute...thats me but I'm not saying its harming or stressing.
These people think everything stresses just because of their natural behavior...Just don't share something like this because people know how to make you feel bad..
and yes I know...they are doing it for the good of your two animals..but guys its ok..one time??

are you guys kidding me?! #1 to the chameleon eating the baby veiled (thats pure neglagence, also youngins gotta watch their back in the wild seeing as adults eat babies!) #2 though im no breeder myself, have some of you seen some of the pictures go around where one chameleon is introduced to another and one either gets total agressive or puffs out like kirby?! come on man, why would i feed a gecko to my cham that costs more than the cham itself, the only lizard i would feed her is an anole cause theyre liek 7$, and even then i wouldnt cause theyre wildcaught. plus why in the world would i feed her something the same size as her? lol. neither animal was stressed is this 2.5 second event so like Chigimonky said. put the pitch forks down and relax
