gutloading dubia
I was just wondering what people gut load their dubia on?
Im considering using a cricket/locust mix which I have available, plus a variety of cereals and fresh fruit/veg, but im not sure what fruit/veg would be best advantagous for the chams? |

I just keep my insects on a healthy, varied diet. i do not techinically "gutload" them before each feeding.
It's a mix of ground guniea pig food, dry baby cereal, and some herptivite. They get that all the time, along with not-so fresh fruit and veggies. I started to use limes, and citrus in general, for my insects, a few years ago. One of my deremensis kept getting mouth infections, abcesses and swellings. A couple others had slight swellings. I started to throw limes into the cricket bins, and have not seen it since. the Vitamin C in guniea pig food seems to help. Despite using multivitamins, I do not think they were getting enough vitamin C. |
