Guinevere & Thaddeus (melleri)

Olimpia

Biologist & Ecologist
Got back from a 3 week trip last night and I decided to take some photos of my two guys.

Guinevere (CB) is at 22" total length and weighs in at 456 grams. She turns 4 in exactly a month.

Thaddeus (no idea if really male, WC) is 15" total length and comes in at 195 grams. No known age but he seems like a youngster.

Let's do ladies first:

The curve in her tail. Possibly a break when she was younger.

They are both looking great. Guinevere always looks regal. Thaddeus is looking quite the handsome guy.

Thanks Laurie! They're both doing really well. No interest in approaching each other's free ranges even though they could now (he's out of quarantine) but they're doing really well. I wish I could get more right now!

They both are beautiful! :D

Thank you so much!

You're doing a great job with them. Stunning!

Thanks man! Means a lot coming from you!

Thank you everyone!

They're looking good! Do you keep them together?

Thanks! No, at least not right now. He's about half her size, so he's very intimidated by her. They each have a free-range set up on opposite sides of the living room and they seem content that way.

They're gorgeous! I hope they are a male female pair and there are some babies in their future!

Thank you! I have suspicions that he may be male (I see small spurs on his heels, a narrower pelvis (although he's young, so maybe too early to tell) and I feel that sometimes I can really see a bulge) but we'll see with time if I'm right or way off! He's very handsome, he should be really gorgeous once full grown and make nice offspring if he's ever inspired.

I love pics of Mellers, but especially when you post pictures of your crew. Fingers crossed for babies in the future!!! :D

Wow, Olimpia, what a beautiful duo! They look fantastic!

Thank you so much!

They look great! So lucky you are to have those two. You are doing a great job w them.

Thanks! Yes, I got lucky to find two really good individuals (good temperaments, easy to handle and live with). And Guinevere was lucky to end up with me, given the conditions she was in before I got her.

Mellers are so cool and your photos are awesome! I think the flaps on their heads are wild!

Thanks Carol! Did you ever see this photo on FB? For anyone who doesn't know what these guys look like angry and flapping, here it is:

It's confirmed, I'm getting my third (and final for the time being ;)) Meller's this week. My "rule" is to name them alternating between male and female names when gender is a mystery, but we'll see if I get any hints one way or another when "she's" finally here.

They look great!

Guini loves the camera huh :p

Thanks!

Ha, she's actually flaring up at a large hornworm! She seems to have some mysterious line in the sand where some are too big and others are irresistible, and I don't know where it is. It's completely arbitrary each time I offer one!
