Granola bars as gutload?

I was at Costco and I picked up some granola bars that I am using as food for my roaches. There are 2 different kinds, nut and fruit and also nut and seed. I crumble them up and throw them in. I use oranges for hydration/humidity and they get whatever else I throw in there. Just wondering if these were any good or if anyone else has used any type of granola or any other "bar".
This is the box and info...

That's an interesting idea, never occurred to me to use something like that. I guess as Carol said- it's the additives and preservatives etc to be wary of.

I'll wait & see what the consensus is- could work out cheaper than the bug grub I buy.

I'm sure any "bug grub" would have preservatives like wet gutloads or anything name brand for feeders. Id say this is fine along with fresh fruits and veg of course. Well see what others say though.

I wouldnt use them as a regular or major part of a gutload, but used only on occassion there would be no harm done.

Those things are full of salt, sugars, fat, presevatives, etc that are not healthy for people, much less chameleons. Plus they contain more phoshorous than calcium and soy (Goitrogens).
So while there's some useful stuff in there, I think it is outweighed but the negatives - and its far less expensive just to mix up your own dry gutload with only good ingredients, to go along with the important vegetables and fruits that should be the basis of good gutloading.

thank you as always Sandra!!!:)

These will just be part of a varied diet, depending on what's in the house. I have an orange tree, so fresh oranges are always available. Thanks for the input.
