Is this a good complete setup for a Veiled Chameleon?

I recently aquired this chameleon listed in this thread.
https://www.chameleonforums.com/my-new-male-veiled-14794/

He is 4 months old and looks very healthy. The person I got him from really knew what he was doing. I've spent some time today looking at all the various vendors listed on this website for a new complete screened setup since the one I have now is glass and soon Skittles will outgrow his current cage.

I would like this setup to last him the rest of his life excluding any plants I want to change up.

24x24x48 Alumnium Screened Cage from illreptile $79.00

Zoo Med 24" Combination Reptile Hood $56.99

2 Zoo Med 60 watt day bulb $4.79 each

Zoo Med 24" Repti Sun 5.0 UVB bulb $13.99

Zilla Digital Thermometer / Hygrometer with probe $19.99

Sticky Tongue Minerall INDOOR formula $5.59

I already have the HerpMist automatic watering system that will be used. I also have a little dripper from the current setup that will be reused.

A few questions
1. The combination light fixture
Should I get this or get a 5 1/2in clamp light with 75 watt bulb (that has the metal inside the bulb to direct the light down and a seperate fixture for a 24in or 18in UV light?

I thought the combination fixture would be nice to keep the lighting even in the cage and not have the top of hte cage be crammed with fixtures. The thing I don't like is I can't really use those better heat bulbs with the combination fixture becuase the lights point off to the sites of the fixture.

2. Do I need anymore supplements then I have listed?

3. Does anyone with experience with these lllreptile cages know if they have a pvc bottom in them? If not; am I able to purchase one to catch water and for easy cleanup? The details on the cage are pretty poor on the website and they make no mention if the bottom slides out or the bottom door opens. Maybe someone who has one can shed some light on this.

4. Does this all look like a good deal and more importantly am I getting the right stuff here?

If you want to go with a cleaner look you could use the hood but the night bulbs arent necessary. But you can get a reptisun and a clamp light for less than that hood will cost you.

The bottom of the LLL cages are a piece of pvc which make it easy to clean and modify for a drainage system, also the bottom door hinges upward and is very handy for easy cleanup or for puting feeders in like flies.

I would ditch the

Zoo Med 24" Combination Reptile Hood $56.99

2 Zoo Med 60 watt day bulb $4.79 each

and get a hood only for the reptisun bulb, get a clamp lamp and a 60/75 watt house bulb. You do not need two day bulbs. You just need a spot for the Chameleon to bask. You want to have cool areas for it to hide.

LLL reptile cages are great and they do have a PVC bottom.

You will need more supplements than that ,

I use

Rep-Cal w/D3
Miner-Al-O /NO D3

What is your plan for supplementation?

the 24x24 cage will be a lil on the large side for a cham of that size... If you want to stick with it though e-mail me, I have some used ones that I dont need anymore id sell to you for less.

I think it is best to get a single UVB bulb and then a basking light. No need for a spcial bulb that cost more than a normal ol light bulb.

You will also need some Cal, Cal with D3. I also use another multi on top on the STF, but thats your call.

Good luck!

Wouldn't the 24x24x48 be the correct size for a full grown adult which he should be in the next few month?. I wouldn't want to have to buy a slightly larger cage a few months down the line.

Thanks for the recommendations on the supplements and lights I will go with a seperate UVB light and just one basking lamp instead.

This is random, but I was on craigslist the other day and their was a cham for sale, a veiled named skittles as well... any chance he was shipped from WA??? weird coincidence :)
