an ideal enclosure size for an adult male veiled is 24x24x48. Most people go for aluminium screen enclosures like this:

You gotta make sure you have the correct lighting (reptisun 5.0 is THE recomended TUBE). Your gonna need a basking light (regular house bulb will do usually around 40-60Watts works well) a basking spot of 95F seems to work best!

I'm sure you know most of this but just double checking.

Your gonna need a good digital thermometer and it would be a good idea to get a hygrometer.

Your friend is right about getting the best available (and current) information here ... the problem with a lot of the books that are readily available is that some of the information is old.
Veiled chameleons have only been kept in the U.S. for a little over 15 years and the husbandry has been improved greatly in the last 5 to 10.

so the aluminum are good? I looked at them I had just heard a rumor they could clip your chams toes o.0 Im glad I came here thanks for the welcome!!

I prefer the aluminum cages for visibility, construction, ability to allow UVB light into the interior and the overall appearance.
The Reptarium that you linked to is not one of my favorite enclosures for a chameleon*.

Hey flexariums are terrible that's what i'm using atm. Poor visability and the zip broke :| It's held shut with pegs until november time when I get my new enclosure built up! Aluminium screen enclosures are hard to come by in the U.K!

If you are worried about the nails just line the inside with plastic chicken wire. You can buy it cheap at Home Depot.

Also, don't forget supplements to dust your feeders and gotload to feed your feeders.
