Flex Watt tape safety

I know many on this forum use flexwatt as I do. I started thinking about how I slide tubs in and out over the flexwatt. I started to think about wear as it is only a thin plastic coating over a electrical conductor. I started inspecting all the racks and found signs of scuffing on the tape. I would think over time that this could cause a fire or electrical shock hazard. I did not want to take any chances with my chams safety much less my family's safety. I have gone back through all racks and now have put a layer of PVC/rubber shower liner under the flexwatt as well as on top of it to insure it is now safe. A side benefit is that the temp seems to stay more consistent and I have actually been able to turn down the dimmer and maintain the same temp. Here are some pictures to help.

I hope this will help someone to avoid any future problem and I know I'm sleeping better!
