Well, its been 2 long weeks and we have been working on this build tirelessly. George was quickly out growing his cage and we needed to build something amazing. We are about done and even had to paint the bedroom to match. Just waiting for our door knobs for the cages and will update when they arrive.

This will be a multiple part thread with a nice video of the set up and its details at the end.

Here is part of what we started with...

Here is the cool lizard handle I got for the cabinet door!

We used cement mixing tubs and sink drains for the drainage.

Next reply will show drainage from below......

Here you can see the sink drains and plumbing. Both cages drain to 1 bucket hidden in the cabinet. We also have the mist king bucket and pump in the cabinet along with our electrical strips and timers.

That looks fantastic.I have plans for the near future to build an enclosure.what type of paint/stain did you use on the timber.I had read its better to leave it untreated but obviously is like to do something for the sake of tidyness.not to mention fear of timber rot with the moist humid conditions

We used behr paint from home depot. We got it in satin finish, but of course the glossier finish will be more water repellent. The Behr paints are low voc , but we also let it cure for a few days to be sure it was safe.

very beauitful ,did you put a background so they wont see each other? dosent sound like a bad idea instead of usiing sheets

Raphella you have a killer setup. You and that boyfriend of yours are talented carpenters. That males a beautiful piece of furniture. Your color choice would not fit my home, but I have been told people do have different ideas, how strange.

We went to a fabric store and found some outdoor fabric that is water and UV resistent. We then tacked that on to the side of Rex's cage so that the boys wont see eachother.

It was really an ambitious build for us, but it turned out just the way we wanted. Given the colors, we did have to paint the bedroom as the previous wall color would not match the cages and cabinet. We painted the room mint green and light brown. It all turned out great. Now I just need the chameleon cage door knobs!

Funny, the colors stood out to me as the first thing I noticed and I LOVE that color combination! What a great build, and those lizard cabinet handles were a fantastic find!

Wow! that does look great! love the bright green color and your drainage (all inside the cabinet) is pure genius :)
