the price is just for her.she is the first veiled that hatched.
i kept the first hatchling that hatched and named her misty.i do not have any eggs from her.plus i lost her because i didnt know much about raising babies and put her in a bin with no lid her first day and overnight she got lose. the next day she was climbing on the bottom of the cham room door and she was unharmed so i put her back in the bin and put a lid on it. i named her misty.i know the price is kinda high.i tried to breed her last month and she turned black about 2 weeks ago i tried and she turned black. i am gonna keep trying to mate her if im successful i will then offer her at a more reasonable price.thanks for checking her out. |

Hey FateX...
I wasnt going to respond to this thread... But I felt this should be pointed out. If she turned black it sounds like she may already have eggs developing, maybe infertile, but if she has been in contact with any males there is a chance they could be fertile. How long ago was this attempted mating? Does she have a place to dig? ~Joe |

Black with Spots = Gravid (Black with yellow/orange spots to be specific)
The fact that she is turning black when you try to mate her is her saying... "I am already Prego!!!!" How do you know she is not ready to dig? If she doesn't have a place dig then she wont. A female Veiled should always have a place to dig so that you know when they are ready to lay, in case an infertile clutch develops.... I would put a place for to dig in right away and hope that itis not to late. My girl layed 46 eggs 21 days after mating, and I never saw her dig... I put her in a laying bin one day... and she went right to work. I would act fast and hope she doesn't become egg bound depending on how long she has been gravid. |

Sorry, But you can't tell if she is ready to lay just by looking at her... And if you are breeding them these are things you should have known already. For the sake of the Chams you are breeding...please do some research.
http://raisingkittytheveiledchameleon.blogspot.com/ They will normally lay eggs within a month, So if she showed gravid last month when you tried to mate her, like you said, she may be very close, if not passed due. Please give her a place to dig. |
