Feeder cup color

The other day I was watching my panther and he went to get the cricket that was in the feeder cup the only problem was that he did not realize there was a cup between him and the cricket because my cup is clear like the one you get worms in . Should I switch to a solid color cup so he does not hurt himself

short answer: yes. don't use a transparent cup/bowl. switch to opaque ones.

also, some chameleons don't like bright coloured or shiny (metal) bowls - others don't care. I tend to use dark brown, green and a few white bowls.

I had the same problem and instead of making a new cup, I just wrapped the cup in black electrical tape. It works great and has been in use for almost 6 months this way.

I use clear deli cups, but they are so scratched up, you cant see through them.
They are also fairly tall, with a wide opening, so my adult veiled can stick his head in it.

I would avoid bright colors, esp. red. Some chams will react to the color.
