Chameleon Info:
Male Nosy Be Panther apx 1 year 4months old. Has been in my care for 1 year.

Handling - As little as possible. Remove cham on perch for cage cleanings. Have only physically handled 3 times in past year

Feeding -
What are you feeding your cham? Mostly Crickets
What amount? Usually eats 4 to 8 large crickets daily
What is the schedule? Currently daily feedings
How are you gut-loading your feeders? Fed cricket crack, greens, apples, carrots.
Supplements - Rep-Cal with D3 every other day and Herptivite twice a week
Watering - Misting with mistaking via 2 misters set for 2 min 3 times/daily and 5 min mid day with 15 min mid day on Mon, Wed, Fri.

Do you see your chameleon drinking? Yes
Fecal Description - Very dark brown moist well formed no visible insect parts and very white color jelly like urates.

Has this chameleon ever been tested for parasites? 2 times so far with last exam 12/6/11 both negative.

History - Purchased as baby 4 months old from Screameleons.

Cage Info:
Cage Type - Metal screen 2ftx2ftx4ft
Lighting - 24inch Reptisun 5.0 8inches from perch, 1 2foot full spectrum lamp and 1 2foot plant grow bulb. Basking site under 75 watt incandescent reaches 110degrees Fahrenheit?
Temperature - cage floor temp around 75 during the day and 70 at night. Basking site 110. Temps measured with Croalife digital thermometer.
Humidity - Humidity varies during the day from 97% following mistings to 50% early morning before first mistings
Plants - Large Ficus tree
Placement - Cage is located in spare room. daytime airflow from small fan in corner of room directed away from cage. Geographically located in Central Florida

Current Problem - Cham has suffered some sort of injury to his left eye. Left eye turret appears smaller in relation to right one. No visible exudate from eye. Appears to be partially blind in that eye. Taken to Vet last week vet said the pupil was reactive and he proposed that the cham may have a corneal abrasion. Put on Gentamyacin drops 2 times daily. I have observed very little improvement. Cham continues to eat and drink normally with maybe a little more time taken zeroing in on prey items.

Has anyone else had similar problems. Has anyone heard of a cham being blind/partially blind in one eye?

I have a panther who will be 8 years old in Feb. He has had a problem with one eye most of his life. He spent a couple years with my sister and she also has eye issues. I use a tiny bit of Vit A on a feeder about every 3 weeks. It helps some but nothing has ever been able to cure it. As he gets older, I see him having more trouble focusing on his prey, it may take a couple shots, but he gets it.

I don't live in FL but it seems to me like you are over misting him. My montanes get that kind of schedule but not the panthers. Supplement schedule for me is calcium with no d3, 3 times a week, Calicum with d3 twice a month, and I would only use the herptivite twice a month. I also only feed adults every other day.
