I just got home and noticed my incubator dropped in temp and won't go back up. Anyone else ever have this happen before? The unit seems to cool but the fan won't warm up.

Do you have any contact info? I have 154 panther eggs in there adn the temp reads on the outside at 70 right now but my thermometer on the inside is showing 62. It's not critical mass yet but it is getting there.

First off nice avatar. Next how many panthers do you breed to get that many eggs?:)

I have 4 female ambilobes 4 male ambilobes 1 faly female and 1 faly male. I also have some eggs from my Nosy Be that passed away last year. 89 were laid between sept-oct and the rest were just laid last week. The more the merrier!

My exo terra incubator broke 2 months into a clutch, I used the closet method and my temps fluctuated between 62 and 87 and they are beautiful chameleons now

I moved the incubator upstairs where its warmer I'm not in panic mode yet but being in PA and its winter time we get some crazy daily fluctuations. I'm thinking of picking up the zoo med reptibator tomorrow and see if ExoTerra will take this piece of crap back and send a new one.

Now the stupid thing went up to 95!!! Luckily I was awake...

I would take them out of the incubator if the temps are getting that high, you can't trust it. Exo Terra will give you a new one there is a 2 year warranty on them and they haven't been out for 2 years yet. Honestly I don't want another one of those kind, way too many problems with them, I think I am going to ask for something else instead!

I have an exoterra as well and havnt had these issues but am now worried that I might soon get them, anyway since they seem to break alot does anyone know a good alternative incubator to use?

I have a friend who has 9 incubators he has been using for 5 years with no problems. I have the name and number in my phone, if you shoot me a PM tomorrow I will find it and give it to you :)

PA IN THE HOUSE!!:p
haha, mind my asking where about in PA?

I used one too & it first stopped cooling & then stopped heating. It lasted about 9 months, just enough to hatch out a clutch. I was told by thinkgeek they come from china & are discontinued & did not even know where to send it to repair. If anybody knows who could repair it please shoot me a PM. I wouldn't get another, I switched to a reptibator so far no problems.

www.reptipro.com makes an updated version with a much stronger, recessed fan for more even temperature distribution. Mine is in the mail and will be here in two days. I'll let you guys know how it does. I'll be using it for my leopard geckos which will be laying any day now.

to return your exo terra

contact NORA @ (508) 339-9531

you will need your receipt of purchase and they will send a pick up tag for you. :D

Go get a 40 quart igloo thermoelectric cooler(uses same peltier heating and cooling system just built better) and a helix dbs 1000 or reptile basics pulse propofrtional thermostat and you wont have to worry anymore. Mine broke too by the way but I still always used a seperate thermostat cause that thing was scary.
