Enclosure mk2

So after following some advice after posting our first attempt at an enclosure, here is mk2.

We spent a lot of time setting this up, making sure she has enough walkways and enough gradient so she can thermoregulate easily. She loves her Ficus tree, as you can see in the first picture :)

The back screen is covered in plastic sheeting to aid with humidity, and you can probably just make our our drainage system at the bottom. Its simple, but drains 90% of the water away.

Any further suggestions?

You get a gold star if you can keep those plants alive. Mine kicked the bucket after about 90 days. They cant live off of just a florescent bulb. The new batch does seem to do better with a basking light.

Will have to wait and see, its getting lots of water at the moment!

Lots of water along with poor quality/lack of light will cause a lot of leaf drop on the plants. The shefflara at the bottom will take the biggest hit with leaf drop. It will show signs of new growth towards the top of the plant but it will be bare in the lower sections.

When you say poor qaulity light / lack of light, do you mean for the plants only?

I was hoping the light setup was OK for our Cham? Plants can be replaced, the Cham cant...

I can't give an opinion on using the coiled UV bulbs. I've never used them to raise chameleons.

But for plants they just don't seem to cut it in the wattage's we use. UV bulbs are almost always not the proper color spectrum for plant growth. This go's for tubes and coils. Bulbs in the 6500k temperature range will give you growth and render the colors much better. 6500k is close to noon day sun. Going with tube bulbs you can get a fixture that holds one UV bulb and one daylight (6500k) bulb.

I dont have a coil, i have a 22" 10UVB strip bulb with a reflector (its just well hidden in the picture)

The black thing at the front is the power supply for the strip bulb (if thats what you were looking at), it does look a little like a coild from the picutre angle though
