Easy small nothing fancy free range?

I don't want to set up a huge free range or anything, and I have a carpet cham so he isn't going to get too large to start with. But, we want him to be as comfortable around us as possible, and comfortable with being outside of his cage.

Does anyone have pics/examples of just setting up a vine or something, going from the inside of the cage, to a plant sitting a couple of feet away?

If I do this, and open his cage door from time to time, will he eventually venture out of his cage to the other plant using the vine? I'm wondering if something like this will help with getting him comfortable with being outside of his cage.

I'm very new to chams, done lots of research but haven't really researched free ranging or anything, it never occurred to us to try something like this in our home until last night, when we needed to get him out of his cage for a minute and he freaked out.

Thanks.

I went and bought one of those wood trellis things from lowe's ($12) it's about 6-7' tall, and I have it leaned against the wall next to the cage (that is sitting on top of a white plastic utility sink for drainage). I have two pothos plants that I 'recycle' out. I'll hang one on the trellis and when it needs water/light, I'll replace it with the other one that has been getting water and light. The flukers vine wraps around it, but I have a piece of the vine long enough to hook into a branch in his cage.
Along with that, I put some grapewood vine pieces in the window sill, and he can go from his trellis to the window, and back if he wants to. I have a basking light on the top right corner of the trellis if he wants to bask, I also have a UVB clamp light at the top for getting his UVB as well. If the temperature is nice, I'll open his window where he can bask and get natural UVB. He will sit in his window for HOURS on end.

I spent about $30 on his set up, not counting the grapewood vine pieces.

I worked with Chief to be comfortable with me for about 6 months and made up a free range for him. He usually isn't going crazy on getting out. He's mellow and a bit shy with me. When I get home, I'll open his door, hook his vine inside his cage, and walk away and do whatever I need to do. Most times he'll eventually come out, but sometimes he doesn't. But I have noticed a big difference in his personality and his shyness since putting together his free range. :)
