Duma the tree frog

He's a big boy now! I got him for my birthday about 6 weeks ago. Here's comparison photo from the week I got him and today.

He was hungry today, I opened the tank to feed him & his virtually leapt out at me like a face-hugger! I enjoy hand-feeding him but I may have to stop cos he tried to swallow my finger too. He loves silkworms, wax worms, roaches & locusts.

If I'm not mistaken, these guys can get very overweight if you are not careful! From what I remember, they will eat forever!

I know, I googled to see what a fat one looks like- there were some shocking pictures! Poor things. It won't be long before I reduce his feedings to 3 days a week.

lol I might be wrong. the pupils dilate when it's dark & my frog eyes look like he's been smoking something so he looks super awake lol In light, his pupils are little

Tree frogs are cool!There is this frog at Petsmart sometimes, he's called like a chubby frog. I made a comment about the name being fitting and this guy got all offended and said "That's not funny, they get really depressed cuz they're fat" lol

The thing is they're meant to look fat & well, dumpy ...you can tell if they actually fat though by looking at the ear drums- if the ear drums are hidden by folds of flesh then you got a problem.

I used to have one of those white tree frogs housed with 3 red eyed tree frogs but the white tree frog kept stealing ALL the food so I let him go in a little area in my backyard... just saw him a few nights ago it was cool and he was just as fat haha
