Custom enclosure and plant help

Good afternoon

So I've been building my enclosures for awhile now, and they aren't all the great. Waldos enclosure I shaky like there's no support. I've been using 2x2s for stability and support, but its still shaky. I'm in the process of building an enclosure for Kayla and this time I'm thinking about build 2 separate pieces, stand and enclosure. But I don't want it to be wobbly anymore. Does anyone have any advice? Btw her enclosure will be 20"30"36, stand same size.

Plus I have a question about plants. I have the 3 recommended plants pothos, umbrella tree, and ficus. But is there a chance that I can use an ivy or a money tree? Just in her enclosure?

I think ivy and money trees are fine. Check out FLchams safe plant list. :)

Maybe try using wood screws with some thicker boards than just 2x2s? I have no clue how to build things but yeah.

I'm in a rush atm, you can take a look of my enclosure hasnt been used yet and still needs finishing touches and legs/stand need to be added but its built like a rock in my opinion. thread is i believe first enclosure might give you some ideas and i can explain how some things are done

Have you attached screen to them yet?

Ive built some in the past using only 1x1s. They turned out no more shaky than a reptibreeze or lll screen cage.

Besides the frame itself do you have any cross supports?

A pick of what you have done so far would help.

Thinking about getting some 1x3 pieces of boards, gluing them together with wood glue etc.

i used 1x3's for base and top and 1x2's for the sides. used woodglue in between every piece of glue and nail gunned them together. The base got corner clamped so it held nice and tight as well as screwed together. Dont know if it holds any stronger but i also mitre'd it.

I really dont think its classified as heavy. and cant go check atm didnt fit in my car so was not able to bring it home last weekend. might be in tomorrow though. I cantell you my 12yr old nephew lifted and moved it himself

Hey if your having issues with all the joint on your enclosure being a little shaky I would invest in the kreg pocket hole kit , I bought this $35 kit when I needed to make a few door frames and it works great and ontop of that it allows you to hide the screw so there not seen . It makes rock solid joints !

From your pics it looks like you have "L" brackets at all your corners. If that is all you have keeping your enclosure together then that is why it wabbles. In this case wood glue is your friend and will be much stronger than those brackets. Also the wood looks raw in those pics, if it is you should seal it with something. Otherwise it will eventually rot from the moisture.
