Crickets

I'm breeding crickets and a few hundred pinheads hatched over night and right now I have them in a bucket. Is there any easy way to keep the pinheads in the bucket and from crawling up the side and escaping.

I use packaging tape its too slippery and they cant climb past it. Give it a try and see if it works for you.

They will get stuck in the vaseline and die...so the tape is a better option IMHO.

I keep them in plastic containers and they can't climb the sides of those.

I use a 10 gal fish tank with packing tape they can't climb glass or the tape I also use this method for my roaches.

Best advice given, and cheap. Gotten at WalMart etc. at great pricies, the Sterlite brand is fine, and the 58 qt size very accommodating. Just keep the sides wiped clean every week, at least a 2-3" wide swath, and the crickets will not be able to cross it. Otherwise, you'll lose too many to escape, and have a mess on your hands. Keep the lid off, to generate air flow, as humidity build-up will create mold, and kill crickets, especially pinheads. You can also buy products that "paint" onto the inside of containers, creating an uncrossable barrier, but its pricey, and not needed if you can get the cheap plastic containers. As noted by Dean, cheap packing tape can also make many containers usable. Good luck
