Could sticks stress my baby cham?

Ok - you have probably just read that subject and thought "what a random question". But its a genuine one.

I brought home my baby panther a couple of weeks back. He settled from the first day eating, drinking, pooing and generally a happy active guy. This has continued daily until this morning. Last night about an hour before lights out, I introduced a dripper to his reptibreeze and also a couple of new sticks. Not big sticks, just a couple of small thin-ish ones that offered him another couple of perches and pathways.

When he sleeps he usually tucks himself under a plant leaf or within an artifical hanging plant with his tail curled up. Last night he slept with 2 front legs up on the side of the screen and his back legs on a vine. Woke up this morning to find him still like that which was a little odd as usually he is waiting for food or basking.

I fed him as always but checked he was awake first (which he was). He didnt show any interest which was very unusual. He is usually hunting them down within a minute. I took him out to check if he was OK. He seemed fine and pretty active on my hand. So I put him back in his viv on a vine. He froze and just spent the next 15mins rocking side to side with no movements forwards/backwards.

I left for work, checked on him on my lunch and he was still in that same position. He looked as though he hadnt moved (although he may have done, i dont know). Again, I took him out to check he wasnt injured or anything. He looked fine. All of his food was still in there. I tried to return him to his viv and tried putting him back onto one of his new sticks and he was having none of it. He was reaching long and far for anything but one of the new branches.

This strange behaviour looked as though he was scared, nervous or stressed about something. So I decided to undo the recent changes. I took away the dripper and both new branches. Within 10minutes he was zapping his crickets and appeared to be getting more movement back within himself.

Seriously though, can these sticks have been causing this? Can a baby cham be that sensitive to change?

We will be leaving him alone for a couple of days to de-stress, I am hoping that this is all it was and this is the end of his quiet spell!

In my opinion all chams are sensitive to change. Hopefully in a day or two he'll get use to his new branches.

I just switched up Stan's cage two days ago and he immediately went black and into hiding and he's 5 mo so I agree with Jann, they are sensitive to the change but they are resilient and should adjust pretty quickly but how would you feel with sasquatch changing up your home every day (that's how I like to think about it:p)
