I have a female veiled about 3 1/2 yrs old named Arleen. She is pregnant with eggs right now and I want to breed her. I have breed her 3 times and it happened lightning fast. I put my male in and they got it done immediately. So heres the thing, my local pet store owner is letting me borrow his male veiled (George) for a couple of days to breed with Arlene. Pretty cool of him!! I put George in with her and they get along its just that George grabs onto her pretty hard and they can't really get anything going. How long should I let them tangle around? Kind of confused on this one

I think that 3 years old is too old to be breeding. If you care about her then don't breed. It's very hard on them to lay a fertile clutch.....much harder than an infertile because the eggs are bigger and they gain more weight. The very best thing you can do for her is to keep her cooler and feed less and try to keep her from laying a clutch at all. Laying clutches shortens their life and at 3 just let her enjoy her retirement.

if she is receptive can I just leave George in there for awhile and just keep an eye on them?? Please need some help
