Chameleons in Bougainvilleas

Olimpia

Biologist & Ecologist
My bougainvilleas have been really blooming lately so I decided to get everyone out for some outside time and photos with the flowers. The pansies, if anyone remembers those, didn't survive very long once my puppy figured out he could rip them out of their pots, bring them inside, and tear them apart on the carpet. Soo... no more small, delicate flowering plants lol

Great shots Olimpia!! I love all the color. I have a serious love/hate relationship with bougainvilleas and would be afraid I would have to hunt to get my chams back  Just like in FL in AZ the grow and flower like mad, but they make my skin welt up so bad I finally had them all ripped out at my house....but I keep getting tempted by the orange ones :D

Awesome pics. Love the contrasting colors of flowers and chams. Your camera skills are excellent.

Thanks everyone!

Oh no, you're allergic to them? That's a shame, they are beautiful flowers. And make excellent hedges since they're thorny. I love the orange ones the most too, and finally found a great looking orange one to go with all my pink ones and I love it.

beautiful photography! I have to get a better camera! Mine stinks! I love your little carpet! On another note, did you get a muzzle for your holy terror yet? I thought our puppy was bad!! She is an angel compared to yours!:p

Thanks Carol!
No, we were chatting to a vet friend yesterday and he confirmed what we thought, that a muzzle might be a good idea if he's in a really unpredictable location (like visiting a house with children who leave legos out and such) but that it won't do much to cure him. He thinks that Milou might be doing this out of OCD, and suggested we look into a medication to mellow him out and make him less impulsive, and more trainable to not chewing on socks or pebbles. He would have to be on it several months, until he's outgrown the need to graze on random things. We got some good tips so we'll follow them and see how it goes!

Thank you!
I know it's tough to tell but the photos show two different carpet chameleons. The first few (the one with more red) is the female, and the one that is more green is the male.

Thank you! I have a soft spot for panther females, they are so underrated and can be so pretty depending on where they are in their cycle.

Here are some more from today:

She can also be bright pink, peach, or have hundreds of purple dots all over. Females are fun, I recommend them if you feel confident dealing with the egg aspect of them.

just speachless .never seen such a beautiful female , e envy you :p.... just made one of your pic my desktop background :D
